Fighting the Pandemic Together | Traveling in France - Encountering the Polytech Group and Being a "Low-key" and "Elite" Engineer

There is nothing more Parisian than taking a few moments to sit with an espresso in a traditional Parsian café, just chilling out and watching the world go by.

On a warm afternoon during the pandemic-induced lockdown at school, a friend from the Tianjin International Engineering Institute, Ms. Yin Na, director of the Erasmus EU Scholarship Program of the French Polytech Group, enjoyed a cup of fragrant coffee on the left bank of Paris, France, bringing the student's attention to a romantic country that gave birth to many outstanding engineers.

When opening the advanced mathematics and college physics textbooks, you will be overwhelmed by the names of numerous mathematicians and physicists, including Poisson, Cauchy, Carnot, etc. These outstanding figures all graduated from French engineering schools. Ms. Yin Na introduced that the French Polytech Group is currently the largest public engineering group in France in terms of students and teachers and covers 12 major engineering disciplines. To her delight, Tianjin International Engineering Institute became the first overseas partner school of the French Polytech Group in 2019, which will share overseas high-quality teaching resources and engineer practice opportunities and further carry out cooperation in numerous aspects, including joint training, overseas internships, and student exchange programs.

Ms. Yin Na said affectionately that the spirit and character of the city endowed by the sunny Côte d'Azur profoundly impact universities, education, and students. Sophia Technology Park, also known as the "European Silicon Valley", is wedged between Nice and Cannes, France. This park is home to over 2,500 technology R&D enterprises, including Université de Nice, Ecole Polytechnique de l'Université de Nice, closely cooperating with Tianjin International Engineering Institute. Among the many schools participating in the "Happiest" selection of French engineering schools and companies in 2020, Université de Nice, Ecole Polytechnique de l'Université de Nice won first place in the comprehensive index evaluation in terms of the student learning experience, campus living environment, vision expansion, teacher-student relationship, and employment. Ms. Yin Na hoped she could get together with her classmates from the Tianjin International Engineering Institute at Nice after the pandemic.

This issue of Traveling in France not only immersed the students in an audio-visual experience but also threw them into ecstasies~~

From a cup of coffee on the Left Bank of Paris to the Université de Nice, Ecole Polytechnique de l'Université de Nice on the Côte d'Azur, Ms. Yin's sharing left me not only the romantic elegance of Paris and the white buildings and blue sea of Nice, but also multiple ways of learning and communication.

Li Danyang, a 2021 postgraduate at the Tianjin International Engineering Institute

What impresses me the most is the powerful faculty of French Polytech Group. It is a self-contained institution that relies on French public universities. It has a solid academic background and research and development strength of public universities, with accessible resources from and cooperation opportunities with public universities. It also has the educational characteristics of engineering education to cultivate comprehensive practical-oriented talents. It is a highly desirable education destination for many.

He Jia, a 2021 postgraduate at the Tianjin International Engineering Institute

Having learned about the French Polytech Group via Ms. Yin, I have developed a strong interest in studying in France. Studying in a foreign country and culture will be a very meaningful experience. I hope there will be more opportunities and more in-depth introductions for us to learn about the French engineering education system.
