In order to strengthen and complete the management of TIEI students, maintain the normal teaching order, train the leading talents in the engineering field with fine quality, based on obeying and following themanagement rules of Tianjin University, combining with the situation of the institute, the management rules for TIEI students make the supplementary particularly.
Admission and registration
Rule 1 The training level of TIEI is full-time professional degree graduate student with 3 years’ length of schooling, which begins from registration.
Discipline and attendance
Rule 2 Students are supposed to obey the class discipline, not to be late, absent, or leave early, and not to leave the classroom without the permission of the teacher. If students can’t join the course due to some reasons (like illness), they should ask for leaving permissions in advance, which is not allowed after the event except special cases.
Rule 3 The attendance of the students are on random inspection of the teachers. The examination qualification of the students will be canceled with 0 grades, and the student follow the same course with the next grade, if one of the following situations happens:
(1)Be absent over three times without any reasons in inspection;
(2)Be absent over one third of the classes;
(3)Fail to hand in over one third of the course’s homework or experiment report;
Study and assessment
Rule 4 The training stage of the engineering contains internships of three stages: “blue-collar internship”, for one month; “technician internship”, for three months; “engineer internship”, for six months.
Rule 5 The management of the internship follows《The internship volume of TIEI》
Rule 6 Students must finish the subject choosing and working schedule of the paper in the second semester. With the permission of the teacher, the students should confirm the defence time of the paper in the 4thsemester, and finish the paper and the argument in the length of schooling.
Rule 7 The subject should be with the development of industry, and the results should contribute to solving the actual industry problem.
Rule 8 Students are not forced to publish any academic papers.
Go abroad in the study time
Rule 9 Students are supposed to finish at least 13 weeks’ communication in abroad when at school.
Rule 10 The study of the course required when students go abroad should be evaluated according to the school’s requirement for homework and assessment method strictly. The homework or report handed in shall be edited based on the teacher’s format.
Course education management
Rule 11 Students who already learned a course of the current training program can apply for free of majoring or exam in two weeks before the course, which should be provided with the related files like the grade identification, the outline of the course made by the undergraduate office, the permission of the tutors and the check and recognition of the grade and credit of the course director.
Rule 12 The grade of the core course and compulsory stage in the student’s training program must be achieved in the institute.
Rule 13 On-time education evaluation method is conducted. Each major set up the teaching quality evaluation group, which give students’ opinions and comments for the courses back to the education guide committee timely, as a reference for improving the teaching quality.
