(Correspondent: Wang Wenjie) At the time of China’s Youth Day (May 4), TIEI teachers and students with CPC membership jointly watched the live video of the conference commemorating the bicentennial of Marx’s birth at the meeting room, TIEI building. This conference was held in Great Hall of the People, Beijing, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, the State President and the Chairman of the Central Military Commission attended this conference and made an important speech.

At 10:00 of the morning of May 4, the conference started. All the present teachers and students stood up and sang the national anthem together. Then, they focused on carefully listening to the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping. Xi recalled the great and splendid life of Marx with deep reverence during his speech, pointing out that Marxism is the scientific theories, theories for the people; theories of practice and the constantly developing and open theories, and its scientific system and rich connotation have great promoting effect towards the society development of human. Xi summarized the course and achievement of CPC leading people to push forward the Chinization of Marxism, and expressed that the Chinese Communists have combined the basic principles of Marxism with the concrete reality of China’s revolution and construction, with that of China’s reform and opening-up, and with that of China in the new era, then reach the conclusion that only the socialism can save China, only the socialism with Chinese characteristics can develop China, and only to adhere to and develop the socialism with Chinese characteristics and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Xi further emphasized that the communists of China in the new era still need to learn the theories of Marx, study and put into practice the ideology of Marxism on the laws of human society development, on sticking to the ground of the people, on the productivity and productive relations, on the people’s democracy, on the cultural construction, on the social construction, on the relationship of people and nature, on the world history and on the construction of Marxism political party.
