On May 26th, 7:00 pm, Sino-French class of Computer in TIEI carried out the academic culture construction activity. The activity was held in Room 420, Building 12, Tianjin University. The guest speaker was Jiao Pengfei, third-year PhD in the School of Computer Technology and Engineering, and all the students of Computer took part in the activity. The main content involved professional knowledge, graduate destination and a healthy life, aiming at promoting the exchange of experience and postgraduate student’s academic culture construction.

During the activity, Jiao Pengfei introduced himself humorously, and asked the students to introduce themselves. Then he walked from stage to the audience, communicated with them in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

In the topic of professional knowledge, Jiao Pengfei talked about the difference between software and hardware - the two main directions of Computer, market demand and employment prospects, etc., and then introduced his own research experience in view of how to determine the of science research direction, how to read literature, and how to write and publish papers. In order to satisfy the curiosity of students, he also talked about two hacker jokes in the lab.

Jiao Pengfei explained the related matters of graduation destination emphasized on embarking on PhD and employment. First, he compared the differences between embarking on PhD in North America, Europe and in domestic. Then he introduced some companies, enterprises and institutions students of Computer concerned, and finally he explained the different between the fundamental research and technology.

About life, he suggested students to alternate work with rest, learn to "do not think so much, so far" sometimes, and base on the present. He also recommended students to read literature books, broaden the horizons and enhance themselves.

In the activity, Jiao Pengfei interacted with the audiences several times and answers questions patiently. In the end, he did not forget to remind them to learn a foreign language well and master more skills. The communication meeting was successfully completed in the warm applause.
