From April 24th to 25th 2014, Mr. Philippe Gourbesville, president of Polytech Nice-Sophia, and his group have visited our school. President Jiajun LI met the delegation. Associated officials from Research centers, Dean’s Office, Qiushi Honors College, School of Chemical Engineering, School of Environmental Sciences, School of Architecture, School of Construction Engineering and other units attended the meeting. Communications and discussions were made between Polytech Nice-Sophia and our school, on the subject of the cooperation in engineering education and other issues.

Nice is located in southeastern France, with a population of 520,000, it is the capital of Alpes-Maritimes Provence. Polytech Nice-Sophia is School of Engineering in University of Nice; meanwhile it is also an important member of French Ecole Polytechnique group. Engineering education in Polytech Nice-Sophia covers a number of today's front domains, such as electronics engineering, hydraulic engineering and intelligent architecture technology. In May 2013, ‘Excellent University Alliance’, which Tianjin University belongs to, signed alliance cooperation agreement with French Polytechnic Alliance, which includes Polytech Nice-Sophia. After several rounds of visits between the two schools, we achieved consensus on cooperation in both engineering education reform and engineering education, further substantive collaborations will be launched gradually.
