September 18th, 2013, working talks on engineers training between Tianjin University and Polytech Nice-Sophia were held in Tianjin University. President Phillippe Gourbesvile from Phlytech Nice-Sophia led the delegation of 3 people came to our school and participated in the conference. Mr Gequn Shu, deputy secretary of the party and vice president, met the delegation. Associated officials from School of Electronic Information, School of Civil Engineering, School of Architecture, School of Environmental Sciences, School of International Education, Dean’s Office, Qiushi Honors College, Research Centers and Graduate Center attended working talks as well.

The talks are in-depth discussions after signing alliance cooperation agreement between ‘Excellent University Alliance’ and Polytech Nice-Sophia and the following exchange visits in May this year. The two schools discussed thoroughly about cooperation details in the field of engineering education.

Polytech Nice-Sophia was founded in 2005 as School of Engineering in University of Nice; meanwhile it is also an important member of French Ecole Polytechnique group. Engineering education in Polytech Nice-Sophia covers a number of today's front domains, such as electronics engineering, hydraulic engineering and intelligent architecture technology. In May 2013, ‘Excellent University Alliance’, which Tianjin University belongs to, signed alliance cooperation agreement with French Polytechnic Alliance, which includes Polytech Nice-Sophia. After several rounds of visits between the two schools, we achieved consensus on cooperation in both engineering education reform and engineering education, further substantive collaborations will be launched gradually.
