Course Description

This is a compulsory course introduces and studies the topics of the significant questions in the practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics in China and the contemporary world. It covers the historical lessons and theoretical dilemma before reform and open door policy, the specific procedures of reform and opening up, discussions on vital theoretical problems and the understanding of the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Course Objectives

To deepen and expand postgraduates’ theoretical course on ideology and politics. To help students acquire the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Course Syllabus

1. The developmental stages and the shift of topics of scientific socialism,

2. An in-depth study of the theoretical and practical problems of socialism with Chinese characteristics,

3. The construction of socialist market economy and the shift of modules of economic development,

4. The construction of socialist democratic politics and the reform of political systems,

5. The construction of socialist culture and its prosperity and development,

6. The social construction and the improvement of people’s livelihood,

7. The construction of ecological civilization and sustainable development,

8. The scientilization of party construction and the construction of study-oriented political party,

9. China’s peaceful developmental path and international strategies.
