On October 23, 2019, in order to carry out the theme education activity of “Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind.” and make the development of TIEI better integrate with the students’ experience, Guan Jing, Vice Dean of TIEI organized a theme research meeting, which theme is the optimization and upgrading of the engineer training program and the teaching operation mechanism of TIEI, student representatives from grade 2017 attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Guan Jing first introduced the background and significance of the theme education activity. Then she explained the two research themes. She said that since the founding of TIEI, we have optimized our training programs, expanded the scale of enterprise club, upgraded the level of internationalization and strived for continuous development. Our ultimate goal is to cultivate talents for the national strategy and serve for the society.

Then, the student representatives spoke actively. Chang Suo first raised questions about the orientation of the college’s internationalization and the social recognition of education model. Guan Jing explained the foresight of the specialty setting, and the advanced nature of the comprehensive and refined student training mode based on the French engineer elite education mode and the goal of training international leading talents from the development trend of intellectualization and the advantages of interdisciplinary education mode.

Next, Li Peiling, Di Chaoyang and Wang Di put forward their own suggestions on the college curriculum, the improvement of the college’s influence, overseas internship projects, and the college’s communication with tutors and students respectively. Gao Zi’ang shared his thoughts on the college students’ selection mechanism, the college international platform construction, and the promotion of college social recognition.

Guan Jing recorded everyone’s suggestions carefully, highly appreciated everyone’s sense of identity and targeted suggestions to the college, and said that TIEI will continue to make efforts in student training mode, curriculum, international exchange and other aspects, and build a multi field, interdisciplinary learning and education platform, which could further enhance students’ sense of identity to the college and the recognition from the society.
