(Correspondent Liu Yingtong) On October 29, 2018, at the invitation of Chen Guanyi, Dean of Tianjin International Engineering Institute (TIEI) and Director of Qiushi Honors, representatives from the national universities: University of South Australia, Brno University of Technology, AJOU University, De La Salle University, University of Tokyo visited Tianjin International Engineering Institute. Foreign Affairs Secretary Shao Chen, Zhang Xiaojuan, Publicity Secretary Liu Yingtong, Enterprise Club Commissioner Liu Yang received the delegation.

Shao Chen gave a detailed introduction to the guests from the aspects of college construction and development, organizational structure, talent training mode, internationalization construction, enterprise club profile, student internship and employment, and emphasized that TIEI passed the highest level of six-year authority certification awarded by the Commission of the Titles of Engineer (CTI) in July 2017, and highly praised by CTI Vice President Jean-Marc THERET, which means that the quality of TIEI is internationally recognized and the Institute is constantly moving forward its overall goal of becoming a world class outstanding engineering school. After listening the report, the guests raised questions about the international exchange and cooperation project, CTI certification, student curriculum, and internship practice. Shao Chen and Zhang Xiaojuan gave detailed answers to the questions raised by the participants by combining with the actual situation of the college.

Subsequently, university representatives from various countries visited the Tianjin University History Museum under the guidance of the reception staff of TIEI. And they felt the practical motto “Seeking Truth from Facts” and the rigorous policy of academic research of Tianjin University, and fully appreciated the century history and development of Tianjin University--the first modern university in China.

Tianjin International Engineering Institute, as the experimental field for the construction of new engineering in Tianjin University, since its establishment, the Institute has always adhered to the overall construction policy with Chinese characteristics and world-class as its core, and implemented the Tianjin University New Engineering Construction Action Guide. By drawing on the training model of French engineers, TIEI will create an interdisciplinary cross-education system, build a school-enterprise cooperation and education platform, form a collaborative education mechanism for production, education and research, and actively explore the training path of innovative outstanding engineering talents and strive to become a world-class outstanding international engineering institute.
