（Correspondent Liu Yingtong）On April 18th, 2017, President of Centrale Nantes, Professor Arnaud Poitou paid a visit to Tianjin International Engineering Institute with the delegation. The party secretary of TIEI, Shan Xiaolin met with the delegation, and showed the current overall construction situation of TIEI building to the delegation.
During the visit, Shan firstly extended his warmest welcome to President Arnaud Poitou and the delegation from Centrale Nantes. Then he gave a brief introduction about TIEI current developing situation, training mode, laboratory building, university-enterprise cooperation and future prospects to them. He said that ever since the establishment, TIEI actively explores the training system of French engineer education, focuses on students’ growing-up and talents training, closely connects with the enterprises, tries to provide excellent study resources and education conditions to students and continuously deepens the international exchanges and cooperation of TIEI.
President Arnaud Poitou expressed appreciation for the current overall developing conditions of TIEI. He said that TIEI and Centrale Nantes have a lot of similarities in many aspects such as talents training. Then President Arnaud Poitou introduced the historic development, scientific research advantages and international cooperation of Centrale Nantes. He showed the willingness to launch close cooperation and exchanges with TIEI so as to further promote the constant development and progress of both sides.
Centrale Nantes was established in 1919. As one of the famous group members of central science and engineering universities, it is the largest comprehensive engineering institute in the east of France. Centrale Nantes has engineering disciplines that are of great advantages, as well as the elegant environment. The fields including fluid mechanics, civil engineering, material science and computer all rank the top 3 among the French engineer universities. Moreover, Tianjin University has kept a good communication and interaction with Centrale Nantes. Both sides are always sincerely supporting the exchanges and cooperation between each other.
