The Commendation Ceremony of TIEI Students’ Assistant Engineer Internship Is Successfully Held

Oct 10, 2016, 7:00pm, the commendation ceremony of TIEI students’ assistant engineer internship has been successfully held at Tianjin University Weijin-road campus, No.12 teaching building, room 411. SHAN Xiaolin, the party secretary of Qiushi Honors College, CHEN Wei, the institute counsellor, WANG Wenjie, the institute academic dean together with students of 2015 class attended the meeting.

Combined with the French engineer cultivating mode, TIEI arranges three stages internships for its students, including 1-month blue-collar internship, 3-months assistant engineer internship and 6-months engineer internship. During these internships, students will be involved in engineering practice projects and have deeper understanding about engineer’s work. This commendation is held for assistant engineer internships, in which the students of class 2014 and 2015 went to France for studying and exchanging, or went to companies, or joining in scientific researching. To assess their internship performance and get internship feedback, an oral defense was arranged, in which company representatives and responsible teachers of related schools were invited to be judges. According to the oral defense, one of them was elected as the first prize, and two were the second prize, three were the third prize. It was SHAN who presented the awards.

After the commendation ceremony, three teachers had an effective talk with students. SHAN shared the TIEI’s recent development situation and his work with students, after which CHEN gave students her suggestions on career planning according to the latest news of job hunting. Then WANG did a detailed instruction about new academic year’s courses as well as the oral defense schedule. At last, students had a free talk about their own situations.

Under the joint efforts of teachers and students, TIEI is believed to be more consummate, becoming the fertile ground for excellent engineers’ growing.
