(Recorder: Wang Wenjie) On April 12^th, 2017, Xue Jingsheng, from technology informatization office of the public security bureau of Tianjin launched a special lecture with the theme of “Developing Informatization of Public Security and Police Cloud Big Data Application” in TIEI for students from the majors of computer science and electronics.

Xue Jingsheng has taken occupation in public security system for over 30 years. As a professor-level senior engineer of Tianjin public security bureau, he is also a master tutor of Tianjin University. During the lecture, he introduced the informatization developing history and information network of public security to the students, including the constructing and developing of the 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rdlevel of network, and answered the students’ questions related to the “Golden Shield Project (the 1^stand 2^ndphase)”. Then he focused on introducing the geographical information system for police use (PGIS Platform). As the technological supporting project of national “11^th5-year plan”, and one of the high-end supporting platforms of the 2^ndphase of the “Project”, it adopts various technologies including electric map, network information sharing and visualization comprehensive application. Xue vividly showed to TIEI students how the major knowledge learned in school can be applied into the reality via detailed public security information network construction cases.

At last, during the Q & A, Xue answered the professional questions put forward by TIEI students, gave detailed answers to the students over the lecture content, and have communications with them over the future construction of public security network and personal development. The students thought that this lecture was with clear focuses, rich content, a good combination with the knowledge learned and they had benefited from it a lot.
