Admissions Promotion-Welcome to TIEI!

TIEI was formally founded in 2014,and has been established under the partnership between Tianjin University and French Polytech Nice-Sophia, with the aim to train high-level engineering talents by following the French training model. TIEI seeks to explore a new mode of innovative engineering talents training, to constantly improve the education quality and construct a first-class engineering institute which is open, innovative and international to meet the needs for talents in the construction of an innovative nation.

TIEI has five specialties: “Computer Science, Electronics, Smart Building, Intelligent Medicine Engineering, and Smart Water Engineering”, forming a combination of “Smart +” as the main factor.

Smart Building

The Smart Building is the integration of computer science, communication technology, control technology, and architecture, to create the optimized built environment with safety, efficiency, comfort, convenience, and wellness. In response to the major strategic needs of the construction industry, Tianjin University established China's first green smart building specialty with the CTI certification.

Leader of Smart Building Specialty of TIEI——Prof. LIU Gang

LIU Gang, doctoral supervisor, professor of School of Architecture, Tianjin University. His main research field is green building design, eco-lighting design, and smart building. So far, he has hosted and participated in 18 major projects of the 13th Five-Year Plan, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education, and the Tianjin Natural Science Foundation. He has published more than 50 high-level papers, holds 7 invention patents, and has won 8 scientific research and engineering awards.
