TIEI Holds Seminar to Interpret and Share Cases of the "Internet Plus" and "Challenge Cup" Competitions

(Reporter: Xu Jianfeng) On the afternoon of January 6, 2022, Tianjin International Engineering Institute ("TIEI") held a seminar on interpretation and case sharing of the "Internet Plus" and "Challenge Cup" Competitions at Room 201, No. 20 Dongpei Building and through Tencent Meeting online for remote sharing. The seminar invited the guest Zheng Zhe, Director of the Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department of Tianjin University Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, as the keynote speaker, and was carried out with the attendance of Wang Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Qiushi Honor College of Tianjin University, and counselor Liu Yue.

At this seminar, the interpretation and sharing was carried out focusing on three competitions, namely the China International College Students' “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition ("Internet Plus"), the "Challenge Cup" National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition and the "Challenge Cup" National College Students’ Entrepreneurship Plan Competition (collectively, "Challenge Cups").

Zheng Zhe noted that 'Internet Plus' refers to the business-doing environment created by the development of new technologies in general, not limited to the Internet-related industries. He also introduced the background of the "Internet Plus", the registration for competition and the participation of Tianjin University, and vividly described several gold medal projects, such as "ATOM High-Speed Transfer Robot" and "Smartmens – China’s Most Leading Guardian of Major Equipment", with a focus on analysis of competition rules and emphasis on the great significance of participation in such major competitions for improving personal skills. Zheng also analyzed the two Challenge Cups, and introduced the competition background and groups. Subsequently, he raised some suggestions on how to prepare for competitions, including project sources, business plans, roadshow PPT and recommendations for relevant websites, especially emphasizing "pain points and needs" to be expressly stated in the project.

Combining with their own majors and research interests, students had a heated discussion with the instructors following the sharing, and Zheng patiently answered their questions. Through this sharing meeting, students gained the experience of those three competitions, and also developed their innovation and entrepreneurship thoughts and feelings of "daring to break through and seeking innovation".
