On June 10, 2022, the graduation ceremony for 2022 undergraduates and postgraduates of the Qiushi Honor College and Tianjin International Engineering Institute of Tianjin University was held in the gymnasium of Weijin Road Campus. Gong Jinlong, a Member of the standing committee of the Party committee and Vice President of Tianjin University, and members and faculty and staff of the Qiushi Honor College gathered together to witness the moment of glory of all students of Qiushi Honor College. The ceremony was presided over by Yuan Xubo, Director of Qiushi Honor College and Dean of Tianjin International Engineering Institute.
The ceremony kicked off with the magnificent national anthem and began with the award ceremony of outstanding graduates, which honored the students who had outstanding performances in virtue, intelligence, physical conditions, aesthetics, and community service. 10 postgraduates including Lu Ruili from Tianjin International Engineering Institute and 23 undergraduates including Cao Junyi from Qiushi Honor College were commended.
This was followed by a ceremony to award the engineering diploma from Tianjin International Engineering Institute. 33 students, including Wu Jiangning, majoring in Architecture and Civil Engineering, 31 students, including Wu Lei, majoring in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and 18 students, including Lu Haopeng, majoring in Computer Technology, received the engineering diploma signed by President Jin Donghan and the Chinese and French deans of Tianjin International Engineering Institute, which laid the foundation for their future international engineering construction. Gong Jinlong presented the engineering diploma to the student representatives and extended warm congratulations to them.
Later, the valedictorians, including Meng Congyan from the Mao Yisheng Class and Liu Yue, majoring in Intelligent Building, told the story of their pursuit of dreams at Qiushi Honor College and Tianjin International Engineering Institute. Meng Congyan summed up his four-year journey at Qiushi Honor College using "self-improvement & succession and development", and he is about to leave for Tangchang County in Gansu Province to inherit the outstanding characters and patriotism of students at Qiushi Honor College with practical actions. Liu Yue was deeply impressed with the great events all students had experienced together, the brilliant achievements they had witnessed together, and the great test of the era they had participated in. In the coming days, he said that he will put patriotic dedication and commitment to innovation to the place where the Party and the people need them most, so as to create a prosperous China with our youth.
In the end, Gong Jinlong sent words to the graduates. He extended warm congratulations to all the graduates and thanked the teachers and parents for their hard work. At the same time, he proposed three suggestions: First of all, we should be wise and sensible, establish lofty ideals, and be self-possessed, self-perceived, self-aware, and self-disciplined in the face of countless temptations in the complicated world; No matter what the circumstances, we must distinguish right from wrong and abide by the right path. Secondly, we should be kind-hearted and inclusive and integrate ourselves into the times, always keep pace with the times, take "loving the Party and serving the country" as our most important faith, and regard professional dedication as our most important choice and responsibility. Thirdly, we should pursue excellence, strive for innovation, conduct scientific research focusing on solving the problems of social survival and development of humans, be down-to-earth, forge ahead with determination, and take learning and innovation as a lifelong pursuit.
"Our elite forerunners with their great resplendence encourage us to follow their steps and strive hard for the excellence of the University," the graduation ceremony ended in the chorus of the school song of all the graduates.
