Course Description The course is a required course designed for Engineering Master of Computer Science in TIEI. Human machine interface is a cross research field of the computer science and psychology, the design of art, cognitive science and ergonomics. The main task of the course is to introduce the situation and standard of human machine interface, theory and design example. Students should be familiar with the human machine interface design and usability testing, explore new interactive technologies and development trend. After this course, students should improve awareness of the human machine interface, and develop the basic quality of human machine interface design. | ||||||||||||||
Prerequisite Basic programming knowledge: the ability to write programs independently Object oriented technology: abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance and polymorphism | ||||||||||||||
Course Objectives The course introduces the basic framework of human computer interface design. Students should master the general method and process. After this course, students should be able to: Understand operating systems, computer networks, Discover different types of applications and the specificities of their HMI, Understand the concept of human computer interface design, Master the content and methods of human computer interface design, and to Develop of human computer interface across different languages. | ||||||||||||||
Course Syllabus Human computer interface overview: human computer interface definition, origin, development and research content, development trend and others. Human computer interaction theory: cognitive psychology, ergonomics, human computer interface design concept. The hardware interface: hardware interface design style, the hardware interface design, The software interface: summary of human machine interface, human computer interface form and design principle. Human computer interface art design: the design concept, the research content of art design, art design specification language and symbols. Test and evaluation of Human computer interface design: design criteria, human machine interface testing, interface design evaluation. | ||||||||||||||
