In order to gain a deeper understanding of the members of TIEI enterprise club, and drive the enthusiasm and activity of member units, TIEI enterprise club adopted the enterprise rotation system--the members of the enterprise club organized the enterprise club meetings in turn. On October 18th, the second meeting of TIEI enterprise club in 2019 was held by NXP. Enterprise representatives from Tata Consultancy Services (China) Co., Ltd. 18th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, Inspur Group and other enterprises, Guan Jing, TIEI Vice Dean, representatives of professional teachers and students attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Shao Peng, System Engineering General Manager of NXP (China).

First, Shao Peng warmly welcomed all the participants and introduced the general situation of NXP and NXP class of QHC. He said that the TIEI Enterprise Club promotes exchanges and cooperation between schools and enterprises. Schools and enterprises give full play to their respective strengths and jointly open a new situation of school-enterprise cooperation. Then, Gao Yang, head of MIP Investment Services, gave a detailed introduction to the construction of the MIP park and the basic situation of the park enterprises.

Next, Guan Jing gave a detailed introduction to the participants about the recent work of TIEI and the school-enterprise cooperation, and highlighted that TIEI has become one member of Polytech Group. She said that in order to further promote the seamless integration of industry, academy and research, the school and enterprise have carried out various forms of close cooperation, and the emerging engineering education experimental class (NXP class) was jointly established by Tianjin University and NXP. We are willing to carry out more in-depth exchanges and cooperation between schools and enterprises in the new form, and jointly cultivate outstanding engineering leaders who serve for the development and construction of the country and meet the needs of the industry.

Then, Wang Lingyan, the human resource manager of the 18th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (18 CLP), said that 18 CLP has carried out a number of close cooperation with TJU, not only jointly reporting the subject, but also participating in the education process, and hope that representatives of TIEI enterprise club can walk into the military industry to visit and communicate with each other.

He Yuanyuan, Tata Consultancy Services (China) Co., Ltd. senior manager said that there is a big gap between the business environment and the school environment. We should focus on combining professional theory with practice, and constantly expand the students’ thinking and vision.

Yu Jinghai, chief engineer of Tianjin University Research Institute of Architectural Design & Urban Planning, said that By learning from the French engineer training model, combining with China’s national conditions and industry development needs, TIEI has formed a unique talent training model, especially for enterprises to participate in the students training.

Zhang Tao, a professional teacher representative, conducted in-depth exchanges with the participants on the fundamental issue of “How to cultivate students? What kind of students to cultivate? Train students for whom?” He said that based on the needs of national development and construction, we should make the French engineer education system localized. Through stage internships, the school and enterprise jointly educate students, so that students can deeply participate in the enterprise projects, which can help students combine the theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom with the actual project of the enterprise.

Nie Mengzhen, a student representative, was deeply touched by the speeches of the representatives of the enterprises and teachers. He said that the college provided us with a variety of platform resources. In the future, we should not only learn the professional knowledge, but also participate in the enterprise project. Through the internships and practice, we will continue to broaden our horizons and enhance our comprehensive competitiveness.

At last, all the participants visited the NXP laboratories, getting a comprehensive and detailed explanation for everyone, and the participants took a group photo.

This meeting aims to enhance mutual understanding among the members of the enterprise club, to deepen the communication and cooperation between schools and enterprises, to jointly explore the cultivation of emerging engineering education innovations, and to further promote the development of industry, academy and research. In the future, the TIEI enterprise club will have an in-depth understanding of more member units and is committed to becoming an important hub for cooperation between schools and enterprises.
