On December 6-7, Shan Xiaolin, Party Secretary of Qiushi Honors College and Tianjin International Engineering Institute (TIEI), Guan Jing, Vice director of TIEI, Yu Qian, Vice director of Qiushi Honors College, Wang Wenjie, the educational administrator, Shao Chen, the secretary of foreign affairs, Liu Yingtong, the publicity secretary of TIEI, Zhang Pinting, the educational administrator, and intern Cui Yingyi of Qiushi Honors College visited and made a research to Zhiyuan College and the SJTU- Paris Tech Elite Institute of Technology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the School of Engineering of Zhejiang University.

Under the background of new engineering, in order to promote the cultivation of outstanding talents, on December 6, teachers of our institute made a research and exchange to Zhiyuan College and the SJTU- Paris Tech Elite Institute of Technology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The party secretary of Zhiyuan College, Hong Mei, the director of the Student Innovation Center, Chen Jiangping, the vice director, Xia Weiliang, and the vice secretary Xiong Hongkai and other college management teachers met discussed with our teachers. First of all, Hong Mei warmly welcomed the arrival of our institute delegation, and introduced the construction profile, specialty setup and talents training of Zhiyuan College to the participants. Subsequently, Shan Xiaolin gave a detailed introduction to the participants from the construction and development, training mode, specialty setup, and construction of the new engineering experimental class of Qiushi Honors College (QHC) and TIEI. He said that QHC and TIEI are the experimental fields for innovation talents training in Tianjin University. Since its establishment, it has been adhering to the school motto of Tianjin University “Seeking Truth from Facts”, teaching and educating people, and aiming at cultivating outstanding talents with international vision and national feelings, and actively implementing the various action guides of TJU Action in the construction of new engineering. Then, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on student training, teacher status, and discipline construction. At last, Chen Jiangping led our teachers to visit the Student Innovation Research Center to know about students’ research projects and the construction of the innovation center laboratory on the spot.

In the afternoon, Liu Zenglu, Party Secretary of the SJTU- Paris Tech Elite Institute of Technology, Li Shaoyuan, Director of the SJTU- Paris Tech Elite Institute of Technology, Zhang Lihui, Assiatant Director, Li Junyan, Academic Director, Lu Jiangying, Director of the Student Office, and Sun Chenxi, Director of the Publicity, received a meeting with our teachers. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on French engineers’ training models and standards, international exchange programs, quality assurance, school-enterprise cooperation, and CTI certification. In July 2017, TIEI passed the highest-level six-year authoritative certification granted by the French Title Committee (CTI) successfully. Since then, TIEI has closely followed the guidelines for the construction of new engineering disciplines in accordance with CTI certification requirements, promoted international exchange projects actively, expanded the school-enterprise cooperation platform, and committed to becoming a world-class engineering institute.

On December 7, Chen Fengqiu, vice director of the School of Engineering of Zhejiang University, Shen Zhe, director of the General Affairs Office, Ma Yuguang, director of the Ideological and Political Affairs, Chen Jinfei, director of the school-enterprise cooperation, and Wang Dawei, secretary of the foreign affairs, met and made a discussion with our teachers. Chen Fengqiu warmly welcomed the visit of our teachers, and gave a detailed introduction to the participants from the aspects of construction situation of the School of Engineering of Zhejiang University, the development orientation of the college, the internationalization construction, and the school-enterprise cooperation. Next, Guan Jing gave a detailed introduction to the participants from the aspects of institute construction and development, specialty setup, CTI certification, student employment, and enterprise clubs. The two sides conducted comprehensive exchanges on the international cooperation and exchange projects, school-enterprise cooperation, and discipline construction of the two colleges. Subsequently, Shen Jianfeng, vice director of the Engineering Innovation and Training Center, led our teachers to visit the laboratory of the Engineering Innovation and Training Center and introduced the overall planning and construction of the Innovation Center and research projects in detail.

Through this visit and research of universities in Shanghai and Hangzhou, we not only fully understand the development and construction of colleges, talent training, international construction, school-enterprise cooperation, etc., but also strengthen communication with other universities, and explore and advance the road of innovative outstanding talents training constantly.
