On the morning of October, 21, TIEI held the 1st Student Summer Intern Defense at the Meeting Building. The defense aimed to inspect the first stage of the three-intern stages and give us students a good understanding of the intern. Through the internship, the institute get more information of the students’ intern and strengthen the relationship between TIEI and the enterprises.

The faculty evaluation team is comprised by President Philippe Gourbesville from Polytech Nice-Sophia, Party Secretary, Shan Xiaolin of TIEI, vice dean Liu Gang of Architecture School and professor Yu Mei of Computer Science School. The enterprise evaluation team is comprised by Tianjin Real Estate Development (Group) Co., Ltd, Tianjin Huaxia Architectural Design Co., Ltd, Tianjin Trillion-Bright Science & Technology Co., Ltd. Tianjin Huading Business Incubator Co., Ltd.and other TIEI enterprise club members. The defense also attracts many students who will study in TIEI in 2016.

During the defense meeting, students gave presentations to show their intern achievements in the corporations and their performances got pretty good feedback from President Philippe and the enterprises representatives. At last, Mr. Philippe interacted with students on their intern, mobility, exchange study, and answered the students questions one by one.

Combined with French Engineering Cultivation mode, TIEI set a period of one-month “blue-collar “internship, a period of three-month “Assistant Engineer” Internship and the six-month of “Engineer Internship”. The three stages intern helps the students to improve their independent working ability, and help them to learn the pioneer knowledge in their industries. The defense is the symbol that the first blue-collar internship completed successfully.

In the afternoon, Mr.Shan Xiaolin and Philippe had a discussion on the meeting building. They exchanged detailed information about the internship, and had a rough plan. At last, President Philippe gave some suggestions on the CTI Application, and shared his ideas about the courses planning, TIEI website and so on.

The conference promoted the relationship between TIEI and Nice-Sophia. TIEI has advantages in the engineering based on Tianjin University and the overseas high-level university engineers education resources. It aimed to build an open, internationalization, innovative first-class engineers institute, to promote university-enterprise cooperation and develop the international engineering talents suited to China's economic and social development needs and the engineering progress.
