Vice President Yuan Yingjin Met President of French Polytech Nice-Sophia

On the morning of July 14, Yuan Yingjin, Vice President of Tianjin University held an informal discussion with Philippe, President of French Polytech Nice-Sophia, and Zhao Liu and Yang Minghai, Deputy Directors of Research Institute of Science and Technology Development, and Shan Xiaolin, Party Secretary of Qiushi Honors College, attended the meeting.

Yuan Yingjin firstly introduced the overall science and technology work of Tianjin University. He expressed that the science and technology work of Tianjin University has always focused on major national strategic demands and world development frontier in science and technology, and maintained the leading role in term of domestic science and technology research capability. Tianjin University possesses good research environment and hardware, which provide a solid guarantee for training of high-level talents. He also introduced relevant measures of Tianjin University for promoting science and technology innovation, and relevant information of Wuqing Advanced Research Institute and Qingdao Research Institute of Marine Engineering. The bilateral parties made deep exchange about the building of innovative laboratory, industry-university- research cooperation, talents training and others.

In the afternoon, Yuan Yingjin accompanied Philippe to visit Wuqing Advanced Research Institute, which possesses many national key laboratories and international cooperation bases and is the first batch of group innovation space in Tianjin. It gathers high-level mentor team, top instruments and equipment, integrated working environment and comfortable communication space. Philippe highly appreciated these advantages, and believed that we will certainly develop world-class engineering talents with the abundant basis of Tianjin University for talents training of Tianjin International Engineering Institute (TIEI) in combination with engineering education advantages of China and France.

The visit of Philippe in TIEI will last for one week for work exchange, which will further promote the bilateral student change, talents training and CTI certification preparation
