International Elements of TIEI

1. International Curriculum and Teaching Resources

Drawing lessons from French engineer training mode, TIEI sets up an internationalized curriculum system, and the proportion of theoretical courses (L), exercise courses (TD) and practice courses (TP) has been redistributed, which makes each part account for about one-third of the total hours.

TIEI also strengthens English learning and opens full English courses, which account for 34.5%. Each year, the French teachers from Politech Nice Sophia come to teach professional courses. We also employ foreign experts from America and use the high-quality resources of our university to teach courses in English which is in line with famous international universities.

What is more, there are hours of French courses and extracurricular French learning activities. Such as we invite the exchange student Victor Hugo shared Victor Hugos poem Demain, dès l'aubewith teachers and students together.

2. International Exchange and Cooperation

In order to expand students’ international competitiveness, TIEI offers short exchange projects and whole semester exchange project to students. Besides, students can also join the school’s international projects, like taking part in the international academic meeting. We have sent more than 110 students to US, France, Germany, UK, Australia, Italy, etc. for exchange and study. After the international exchange, students not only improve their English communication skills, but also experience the foreign teaching mode, different learning style and the local culture.

Meanwhile, TIEI receives more than 20 international exchange students from France, Morocco and other countries. After their exchange time, they said they have experienced different culture, varied teaching facilities and the enthusiastic people.

Not only have TIEI students the opportunity for international exchange, but also we send our teachers go aboard for conducting exchanges and carrying out substantive teaching and research cooperation, which can not only strengthen continuous exchanges and cooperation, but also promote talents training and teaching reform in the field of Engineering.

3. Talent Cultivation with International Experts

We also invite foreign companies’ experts, such as Frank SCHREIBER, the Head of Airbus FAL Asia and Tianjin Site Management and Mr. Geoff Lees, the vice president and general manager of NXP to make lectures for our student, which can help students know the industry frontier knowledge.

4. International Recognition

TIEI is the first institute without the model of Sino-French cooperative running in China that passes the maximum 6-year accreditation and the EUR-ACE accreditation in 2017, and this is also a new attempt of CTI (Commission des titres d’ingénieur) outside France.


On the fifth anniversary of its founding, TIEI has officially become the first Polytech Partner School overseas institute by far. The institute is committed to become a new platform for cooperation and exchange between educational and business sectors in China and France, and also to contribute to the construction of the Emerging Engineering Education.

On June 3, 2020, TIEI has been shortlisted in the “International Strategy of the Year” at Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2020. Being shortlisted for the award indicates that the college’s diversified innovation and outstanding achievements in personnel training have gained international attention and recognition.
