(Reporter: Liu Yingtong) On the morning of May 10, Tianjin International Engineering Institute ("TIEI") held a lecture on career planning for 2020 and 2021 postgraduates, together with Tata Consultancy Services (China) Co., Limited ("TCS"), to give students guidance on correct employment outlook and help students with their life plan and career development. Ms. Yu Jia, Head of TCS Asia Pacific Life Sciences and Medical Health Business Department, was the keynote speaker of this lecture. She participated in the cloud class with more than 120 teachers and students of TIEI.
Starting from the personal career growth, Yu introduced the main contents of this lecture based on examples of personal career development. She said that teamwork, good time management, effective communication and solid knowledge reserve are required for sound personal career development. And then, she raised a question worthy of consideration, that is "do you know yourself well enough?", which caused students to have a deep thinking. She pointed out that students should have a thorough understanding of themselves, know their strengths and weaknesses, and always stay positive and be brave to say “No”. Yu also encouraged students to get out of their comfort zone, finally they will become better and move forward towards their ideal and goals.
Students said that they benefited a lot from wonderful sharing at this lecture on career planning. They realized the importance of career planning through this lecture, and through Ms. Yu's personal experience, they deeply understood that for personal future development, they should plan their studying well during the school period, and have a clear picture of personal positioning upon entry into the workplace, and make a rational choice of employment based on their own demand and social needs. Thanks to this lecture, students had a better understanding of themselves, strengthened their ideals and goals, and also learned to make reasonable plans for their future development in advance.
It is reported that TIEI of Tianjin University and TCS signed a strategic agreement on university-enterprise cooperation in May 2019. This not only strengthens the communication between TIEI and enterprises, but also marks the deeply integrated development model initiated by both sides in talent training, resource sharing and base co-building. It is important for reference regarding promoting diversified university-enterprise cooperation and realizing resource sharing and mutual benefit.
