Fighting the Pandemic Together | You and Me - Li Chenxi, a Supervisor of Biomedicine

Since the pandemic outbreak hit Tianjin on January 8, 2022, Tianjin University has instituted stringent management procedures for the school lockdown. It has regularly conducted nucleic acid testing for the whole school to safeguard the health of teachers and students.

How to reasonably spend the on-campus time continuing the scientific research work? This is a question that Wang Huipeng (a second-year student of Biomedical Engineering at the Tianjin International Engineering Institute) and Ma Yuxiao (a first-year student of Intelligent Machine and System at the Tianjin International Engineering Institute) are thinking about.

Under such circumstances, Instructor Li Chenxi insisted on "constant communication between students and teachers, and never slack off in academic discussions", made reasonable arrangements for the progress of students' scientific research, and provided regular supervision to ensure that our scientific research and learning will stay on track despite the pandemic. Meanwhile, he released scientific research lecture information and videos in the WeChat group of the subject research group to share the latest progress in pandemic prevention and control efforts.

Besides, he has repeatedly inspired optimism for life in postgraduates and paid close attention to their mental health, living conditions, and academic progress during the pandemic. He actively provided psychological counseling for the students who struggled with anxiety from the unsatisfactory scientific research work and asked them to abide by the school's pandemic prevention arrangements. He warmly sent fruit and protective equipment to the on-campus students to safeguard everyone's health and take responsibility for postgraduate education and management.

The saying goes, "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" Work to prevent and control the pandemic is now at a crucial juncture. Tianjin University will continue to prevent and control the pandemic effectively and get the best out of online teaching and scientific research. We should pool the strength of the school's teachers and students and unite them in solidarity to win the anti-pandemic battle.
