The First Board Meeting of TIEI of Tianjin University in 2023 Held Successfully

On the afternoon of March 14, the first board meeting of the Tianjin International Engineering Institute (TIEI) in 2023 was held in the A301 conference room of the 1895 Building of Tianjin University. Alexandre Caminada, President of Polytech Nice Sophia, Marc Gaetano, Director of the International Office, and Yin Na, head of International Project, attended the meeting online. The meeting was presided over by Gong Jinlong, President and Vice President of Tianjin University and Dean of the Tianjin International Engineering Institute. He Fang, Vice President of the Graduate School of Tianjin University, Wei Youxiang, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation, Tianjin University, Yuan Xubo, Executive Dean of the Tianjin International Engineering Institute, and Vice Dean Liu Yanli, attended the meeting, and other personnel from other departments and the Tianjin International Engineering Institute also joined the meeting as nonvoting delegates.

At the meeting, Vice Dean Liu Yanli introduced at the very beginning the development of the Tianjin International Engineering Institute in the past two years, including the emerging engineering construction, and the construction and integration of specialty and teaching teams and the faculty resources. Meanwhile, Liu also gave a brief introduction to CTI certification in May.

Later, Alexandre Caminada, President of Polytech Nice Sophia and French president of the Tianjin International Engineering Institute, Marc Gaetano, Director of the International Office, Yin Na, head of International Project, and leaders of the Tianjin International Engineering Institute, conducted in-depth discussions and exchanged ideas on promoting international cooperation. They also put forward relevant suggestions for the upcoming CTI certification.

 Leaders of various government agencies and departments declared that Sino-French cooperation can broaden students' horizons and enhance the school's reputation in the world. Therefore, great importance should be attached to this work, more support should be given, and the efficient cooperation between the two sides should be realized with more enthusiasm and meticulous work attitude.

Finally, Gong Jinlong, President of Tianjin University, thanked President Alexandre Caminada and Professor Marc Gaetano of Polytech Nice Sophia for their precious suggestions. He also mentioned that the Institute will learn from the French engineers training system and absorb the lessons and experience of foreign engineering education, so as to open up a road of international education localization, and cultivate more high-level engineering innovative talents for the national "Belt and Road Initiative" and the cause of "Chinese modernization".
